Industriveinen 10 – Maritime Sami under planning
In the middle of the Arctic coastal landscape, on a newly restored quay in the center of Skjervøy, a unique project is emerging. Here, Áhpi AS is planning a new tourist center and cultural building with space for three fishermen's huts, flexible meeting rooms and arenas for communication, community and presence.
The project is based on the desire to create a vibrant meeting place for Sea Sami culture – values that have been pushed aside for generations, but which are now proudly being brought forward again. With inspiration from Sami building customs and architecture, we want to provide space for exhibitions, concerts, language cafés, courses and lectures – and not least for doudji, crafts and social meetings.
The wharf was fully restored in 2024, and we want Industriveien 10 to become a gathering place for locals and an attraction for visitors.
