Our boats

Feskarjenta is a beautiful and traditional fishing boat built in 1971 by the well-known Mjøsundet Boatbuilding. This solid wooden boat was originally designed to meet the tough fishing conditions in Finnmark, and served faithfully as a fishing boat until 2008.

After almost four decades in active service, Feskarjenta was restructured and accepted into the Feskarjenta Coastal Association. This marked the start of a new chapter in the life of the skúyta, where the preservation and dissemination of coastal culture took on the main role. Feskarjenta and her soul are worth preserving, and her story is an important piece of Norwegian fishing history. After having had several owners and a journey across different parts of the country, Feskarjenta found its way to Western Norway.

In April 2023, she was purchased by Boreal Eiendom, who took her on a new journey – from Bergen to Skjervøy. Here, in an old and traditional fishing village, Feskarjenta has finally found her new home.

The goal is clear: To preserve this unique skate and use her as a living medium of the coast's history and traditions.

The Feskarjenta will once again shine – not as a fishing boat, but as a floating cultural monument in the heart of Northern Norway.
